Heritage Painting & Finishing

Brouns & Co Linseed Oil Paint Specialist. As a recognised specialist in the application of Brouns & Co linseed oil paints, we provide a finishing service that is both historically authentic and technically superior. Unlike modern plastic-based paints that trap moisture and cause decay, these Yorkshire-made paints are entirely breathable and "wick" moisture away from the substrate. This protects timber from rot and metal from rust, offering a maintenance cycle of up to 15 years. Our expertise ensures the paint is applied to the manufacturer’s exact standards, ensuring your property is protected by the most durable, eco-friendly, and historically accurate finish available today.

Timber Features Restoration We specialize in the sympathetic repair and preservation of period timber. From ornate carvings to structural beams, we use traditional techniques to ensure that historical woodwork is stabilized and restored without losing its original character.
Historic Glazing & Window Care Our team provides expert restoration for historic glass and window frames. We focus on preserving original cylinder or crown glass while ensuring frames are weatherproofed and functional, maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the building’s "eyes."
Infrared Paint Stripping A gentle, modern solution for a classic problem. Using infrared technology, we safely remove layers of old paint from timber and masonry. This method minimizes heat damage to the substrate and prevents the release of toxic lead dust, making it the gold standard for heritage surfaces.
Traditional Burnt Sand Mastic Application We are experts in the application of traditional burnt sand mastic—the historical choice for sealing the gaps between timber window frames and masonry. This breathable, flexible, and incredibly durable material is essential for the long-term protection of traditional buildings.
Conservation Masonry Cleaning We offer non-abrasive cleaning solutions designed to remove centuries of carbon build-up, biological growth, and pollutants. Our methods prioritize the "health" of the stone, ensuring the patina is respected.

Structural Repair of Historic Buildings Heritage structures require sensitive stabilization. We provide structural interventions—from timber Splicing and consolidation to masonry tying—that arrest movement or decay issues while remaining as unobtrusive as possible.
Conservation Work Specification, Planning a heritage project? We provide detailed work specifications and schedules of repair. This ensures that all proposed works meet the requirements of conservation officers and follow industry best practices.

General Carpentry & Joinery Beyond conservation, we offer high-quality carpentry services to the public in the Leeds area. Whether it’s custom shelving, door hanging, or bespoke installations, we bring the same precision to modern homes as we do to historic monuments.
Furniture Restoration From family heirlooms to antique finds, we provide a full restoration service. We handle everything from structural stabilization and veneer repair to traditional finishing, breathing new life into tired pieces.
