This Job culminated in the restoration of original box sash frames and the manufacture of new sliding sashes to accomodate slimline double glazing. Their was a lot of inapropriate repairs undertaken by a previous owner to remove and general improvement made to the bay window set. All in all we completed two partial sill replacements, one full sill replacement, six box frame cheek repairs and general suring up of the frames and squaring them within their stone apertures which had moved over the years.
The new sliding sashes and all repairs were made using reclaimed pitch pine, glazing spec was a 16mm slimline double glazed unit achieving an impressive 1.4 U value glazed using the H5 glazing method. Finished with Brouns & Co Linseed oil paint and sealed using oakum and burnt sand mastic. Trickle Vents were retrofitted discreatley into the original box frames to meet ventilation requirements.
